My Thermalite shutters were installed on the 29th, and I am impressed with the beauty and quality of this product. I especially noticed a difference in the lack of radiant heat coming from the window area. My windows are approximately two feet in length and five feet high. In the past I could feel the heat radiate from this area and defeat the air-conditioning. I am pleased with the decision I made in choosing Thermalite shutters.

I am writing this letter to let you know how much we love the shutters we purchased for our Child Care Center. They have truly given the building a facelift and I receive so many compliments on them. The staff love them because they are so easily adjustable and easy to clean. No more cords! They are great at naptime for creating a sleepy, restful environment. Over the past year I had your shutters installed in various rooms on a programmed schedule as I had flooring and painting done in my home.
Everything has now been completed, with the exception of my kitchen and 1 bathroom. I plan to contact you regarding those rooms after the 1st of next year.
My house is not air-conditioned and during these hot summer days I shut off unused rooms with a window air-conditioner going only in the room occupied. I close the shutters of the unused rooms and was pleasantly surprised when I went into them, during the heat of the day, and found they were unusually cool compared to times past.
This confirms what Ellen Berman and Phil King told me about your shutters, providing insulation, is most certainly correct! I observed fewer drafts this last winter when I had the last shutters installed and am pleased to see similar positive results during the hot days of summer.
My utility bills are approximately in line with what they were last year in spite of the great increase in rates; needless to say this makes me happy.
The professionalism of Ellen as your sales rep. and the skill of Phil as your master craftsman has been a most pleasant experience. To top everything off, my friends all compliment me on the way my home looks with my new shutters.

We are most pleased with our purchases of your Danmer custom Thermalite shutters! Last fall, we purchased a new home and were literally BLINDED by the morning sunlight in our master bedroom. Macy's installed seven Thermalite shutters in this room in November and we immediately noticed the superb insulation feature - not only against the severe glare but also against winter chill. This summer there must have been a 20 degree difference between our master bedroom and the adjacent master bath. Needless to say, we are repeat customers again this fall and have ordered more Thermalite shutters for said master bath as well as two other upstairs bedrooms. I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the Shutters. They are the perfect finishing touch for the living room of my South San Francisco home. As I told you, I am no stranger to Danmer's fine products, the high quality of the materials used, and the expert installation. I chose Danmer in 1997 on the advice of a decorator -- she said it was the only "brand" she could recommend, and that she had them in her home.
Well, please note that in 2004, I was back for more. When I decided that I wanted my very wide, very tall southern facing window done, Danmer was my first and only call. I wasn't sure anybody could pull it off, but of course you did, and the time taken on the installation design choices amazed me. You matched color, you matched the molding. Oh, and to top it all off, your installer arrived early to do the job. In just a little over an hour, this large complex window was finished in a manner that made it look as if I had asked my architect to include them as part of the original plans.
Now the BAD news: about 4 years ago I had another company place their product on a pass-through between my kitchen and formal dinning room. The paint has discolored, the shutter blades have some rather obvious surface flaws and the action of their hardware has become faulty. Yes, I STRAYED. And now, must pay the price.
The GOOD news is, my 8 year old Danmer Shutters are still prefect, in every way. The Thermalite material was the perfect choice for my mountain side location, where temperature and moisture reek havoc on wood and paint.
Thank you so much for the time and care you took with this project. I am very pleased with Danmer's product, and even more pleased with Danmer’s organization. Now excuse me, I’m going to go enjoy my Danmers!
